The war in Pundani is over, and Light has become, at long, long last, victorious over Dark. The continent may never recover from having lost two or every three beings living in it, but at least it will have the opportunity to try.

This victory comes at a cost, though, and a significant one at that. Many warriors died the name of protecting the Light, and their bodies and stories are to be shown and celebrated at this year's Grand Galloping Gala. Not least among them will be the memorial of Celestia, Sun Princess of Equestria and Gaia, who died in the final moments of the fight.

Equestrian Legends is shutting down. Please read more about this decision here.

Equestrian Legends Redux is a reboot of a popular MLPFIM roleplaying forum. We offer an extremely detailed sandbox world, a low minimum wordcount of 100, and a rapidly moving, far reaching plot. While you are just as welcome to play slice of life threads here, and they are encouraged between plot events, please know that Redux is very story driven, and considerably darker than the show.

Weather: Warm and sunny, but with a peculiar sort of silence to the air
Date: September Tenth, 5150
Current Events: The Grand Galloping Gala
Description: This biannual event was always intended to be one of celebration and delight, even if politics and stodginess did often get in the way. But this year, there is no doubt that the very nature of the Gala has been irrevocably altered. Begun by Princess Celestia after her Sister's banishment, now the Gala is being continued by Princess Luna after Celestia's death.

Compared to, say, a buffalo or a pony, Yellow looks rather flimsy, with his spindle thin legs and slender build. He is definitely not what you might call 'large'. But then, he doesn't need to be, after all, the talents of deer are closer to those of the pegasi: moving too fast to be hit.

Of course, there are his antlers. Like many bucks, they fall off and are regrown annually. Unlike most bucks, they are frankly obscene. They are enormous, lethally pointed, obviously capable of gutting anyone who comes at them wrong, and, most impressively, weight fairly little. They do produce significant drag when they are fully grown each fall, but the spongy matrix of cartilage and calcium which they are made from offers exceptional resistance to crushing and fracture, plenty of insulation to prevent trauma to his skull when weaponized, and most importantly, is made up of over ninety percent hollow space offering a total weight of less than eight pounds.

Of course, regrowing eight pounds of fresh bone means that he has an almost surreal metabolism, and can often be found munching on something or another, to maintain his weight and endurance. If left somehow in a situation without readily available highly calorically dense foods, eg being forced to graze, he would likely begin suffering malnutrition within days or weeks, not months, and would almost certainly be dead by day thirty.

Yellow is not a high strung fellow by any means. His general response to most things is mild disdain and a suggestion that "you all need to chill. Please."

He is a very migratory buck, rarely staying in one place more than a few weeks to a month at a time, perfectly at ease with sleeping on the ground and using the small sums on money he manages to scrape together to buy nice food.

He is a very talented combat mage, utilizing a variety of uniquely hybridized styles of magic learned on his travels. Spirit channelling taught by the buffalo, rhythm rituals of Saddle Arabia, stone-anchored rituals form the Diamond Dogs and Inukami, last but not least, the loyal bond between himself and his juvenile Neighponese Battlefox, Buoy, who is almost always the target of his magic. With the right touch, he can temporarily force Buoy into any of the eight forms she will eventually settle in to, making her more or less impossibly variable during battle.

Then it's a simple game of 'sic the foxy' while Yellow does what he does best, which is jump out of the way of projectiles.
